Experiences /Resume
At the present, I am completing my Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology at The Pennsylvania State University, and I look forward to further my education in the pursuit of becoming a licensed Physical Therapist or medical related field. During my Junior and Senior year I was able to obtain various internships and work- related experiences working with chiropractors, Physical Therapist and Athletic trainers. I also had the opportunity to gain first-hand experiences with human cadaver while at The Pennsylvania State University. I believe that these experiences have prepared me for the graduate school and make me a good fit for their programs.

Personal Statement
I chose the field of kinesiology because I was fascinated by the movement of the human body and think that it would pave my way into Physical Therapy graduate school. I want to help people using that interest, I never expected the way it would deepen my appreciation for fitness, health and wellness. Growing up, I had many sports related injuries and never gone to a physical therapist to get rehabilitation because of that I am limited to certain ROM (range of motions). I want to be able to help my community and others are able to see the importance of fitness, wellness, and rehabilitation.
During my undergraduate years I was introduce to strength training during my sophomore year and grew to enjoy it a lot. I know firsthand how hard it is to change to a more healthy lifestyle and make time for exercise and I think this could help me better motivate my clients and community members to change their lifestyle as well. I am seeking a career in physical therapy because I can pursue my interest in the human body and how it works while also allowing myself to promote health and wellness for the public. For me, entering the profession of Physical Therapy is more than just a career choice and has required that I overcome obstacles. As the youngest and first of three children to graduate with a degree, achieving my Bachelors in Science from Pennsylvania was a major accomplishment. During my years at the university, I studied Mechanical engineering but switched majors because I did not find passion in what I was doing. I spent my time searching by ways of volunteering and through friends that I decided to switch to Kinesiology and pursue a new career.
If accepted into the program, I would contribute my determination, motivation and skills to every aspect of the program. Academically I will do my best to excel in every class. I will apply my volunteer and internships into experience so that I can bring that same aspiration into the program. I will use my life experiences and family to help motivate me to push myself further. Furthermore, I will do all of these things not by myself, but as part of a community of professors and students. I plan to interact with professors and peers to gain insight into other aspect of the career and share my story long the way. I am passionate and determined to succeed in a career that I would enjoy doing every day.
During my senior year of undergraduate studies, my step-father used physical therapy to learn to walk, sit, laydown, and other every day movements, that I realized the joy in seeing the expressions on both doctor and client enabling each other to fulfil a goal. To me, it felt so surreal and unexplainable occurrence to change someone’s life. Although I have yet to learn I want to be able to relive that moment again as my future career. I am fortunate to have found a profession and program that will continue to inspire me to wake up every day and make something good happen.
